Gravity-Charouz Racing ready for final event of FIA GT3 season

(12.10.2011)

pictureRound six at Dutch Zandvoort finishes the current FIA GT3 European championship season. Gravity-Charouz Racing enters like in all previous rounds two Mercedes SLS cars and aims to continue in the trend from Slovakiaring where the Czech team fought out podium finish.

Zandvoort hosts races of the FIA GT3 for the very first time and Gravity Charouz Racing heads to the Netherlands with slightly changed driver line-up in the car No. 11. Russian driver Leonid Machitski is joined by Slovakian Štefan Rosina who replaced Jarek Janiš. Twenty four years old from Puchov is known mainly through his successful participation in the prestigious Porsche Supercup. Rosina already made his debut in the FIA GT3 at Slovakiaring and immediately impressed with pole position. “I am really looking forward to the grand final in Holland. The season has been a bit like a rollercoaster ride, so I hope we will finish it strongly,” said Leonid Machitski.

There are no changes in the second car of Gravity-Charouz Racing team. The car No. 12 will again share Jan Šťovíček and Jakub Knoll. Both Czech drivers celebrated first point in the past event at Slovakiraing and they are fired up to add more at Zandvoort. “I did a race of the Czech championship at Brno before Zandvoort to keep me sharp after quite a long break between races. All went well at Masaryk Curcuit and I feel ready for Zandvoort. Once again it is a track that I know only from the simulator, so it is going to be a new challenge. Our aim is, for sure, to confirm improvement from Slovakiaring and once again got a top 10 finish. We proved that we are capable of it. From my point off view it is pity that season 2011 is almost finished because I thoroughly enjoyed racing GT3 and will have nice memories of 2011 season,” added Šťovíček.

Also Filip Sládečka is not going to miss the Dutch weekend, as usual he shares Heico Motorsportteam car with Patrick Hirschi. They aim to broke the bad luck from last few races and end the season with good result. “The chance for a good final result in the championship is unfortunately gone because we lost many points in last two events in France and Slovakia. However, we will do our best to get a strong result at Zandvoort and gain as much experience as possible which can be very usable for the future,” said Filip Sládečka.
