Vaclav Pech started his racing career in rallycross in 1996, since 1998 he has been focused on rallying. He was driving Subaru Impreza in Group N, but before the start of 2001 season he changed to Toyota Corolla WRC and became vice-champion of Czech Rally Championship. From 2002 he started with Ford Focus WRC prepared by Charouz Racing System. With this car Vaclav earned great results: he won Czech Rally Championship three-times and two times he became champion of Czech Sprintrally Championship. After the restriction of World Rally Cars in Czech Championship Vaclav Pech changed to Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX, but this car was also prepared in workshop of Charouz Racing System. With this car Pech won two more titles in Czech Rally Championship (2006 and 2007). Since 2001 Vaclav Pech started also in foreign championships. He belonged to regular participants of Slovak Rally Championship and he won there two champion titles (2002 and 2003). The greatest international effort he gained in 2003, when he finished third in overall classification of European Rally Championship. In 2002 and in last three seasons Vaclav Pech won FIA European Cup – Zone Central Europe too.
