A1GP World Cup of Motorsport 2007/2008

2007/2008 was the third season of A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, ambitious and still more popular championship. At the same time, it was the third season in which Charouz Racing System and its marketing partner BPA sport marketing agency provided starts of Czech national team in A1GP. More than twenty nations appeared at starting grid including traditional motorsports countries such as Great Britain, Germany, France or United States of America. Well known drivers experienced in Formula 1 (Tomas Enge, Jos Verstappen or Ralph Firman) did not miss in this series. On the other side against them were fighting rookies headed by Nico Hulkenberg, Sebastien Buemi or Erik Janis.

Also A1GP paddock was full of legends, e.g. Emerson Fittipaldi, Niki Lauda, Alan Jones, John Surteese, Keke Rosberg, John Watson or Nelson Piquet.

Erik Janis, the European go-kart champion 2005  and the winner of Skoda Octavia Cup 2007, entered the season 20007/2008 as number one of the Czech team. However in the beginning of 2008 Erik concetrated on his debut in Formula 3 Euro Series. That´s why Tomas Enge, Josef Kral and Filip Salaquarda replaced Erik Janis in cockpit of the monopost of A1 team CZE at several occasions.
