24 Hours of Le Mans

The very first appearance of Czech team Skoda Charouz Racing System in the world´s famous endurance race, 24H Le Mans, turned into impressive debut. The crew Jan Charouz, Stefan Mucke, Alex Yoong finished dramatic race in eighth position overall and fifth in LMP1 class (Lola B07/17 Judd). Nor only team had premiere, neither Czech driver Jan Charouz and German Stefan Mucke. The car inflamed during one of Saturday´s refuelings but the catastrophe was warded off by quick action of fire squad. Almost nothing happened except of inspiration of harmful substances. In the night stint Jan Charouz had an accident because of puncture and the car was more extensively demaged. That´s why the team lost fifth position and dropped on seventeenth. After great chasing drive, when the team battled up through top 10, other shock came caused by another puncture and second chasing drive started. Then eighth position and the fastest time among the prototypes LMP1 with petrol engines was a consideration for the team.
