Rally
In 2008 Charouz Racing System operated and serviced two cars competing in Czech Rally Championship. One of them was prepared for Vaclav Pech and the second one for Roman Kresta. When Vaclav Pech and Petr Uhel fought for their sixth Czech rally champions´ title in 2008, they had already been fivefold Czech rally champions and double Czech sprintrally champions. In all nine events of Czech rally championship Vaclav Pech and Petr Uhel used Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX supplied and serviced by Charouz Racing System. Their biggest competitors was two times Czech champion Roman Kresta coupled with Petr Gross, who also used Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX by Charouz Racing System at the most of the events.
In the end of the season Vaclav Pech´s results were very similar to Roman Kresta´s results. Vaclav Pech won four times, he was second two times, but he didn´t finish three events. Kresta won four times and was second two times as well as Pech and he didn´t start in two events. However in 2008 season in Czech rally championship were given special bonus points for each day rankings. And that´s why Roman Kresta gained 270 points, whereas Vaclav Pech gained 249 points. Vaclav Pech and Petr Uhel finished second in Czech rally championship.
In Czech Sprintrally Championship 2008 competed two Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX operated and serviced by Charouz Racing System. These cars were prepared for two crews: Josef Semerad – Roman Niemetz and Martin Semerad – Bohuslav Ceplecha. While Josef Semerad achieved four podium places during the season and finished third overall, Martin Semerad debuted in Group N car. Therefore he got used to the new car in several events, but then, despite young age and lack of experience, he achieved very solid results. To his best achievements belongs 3rd place overall at Rally Vsetin.
In the end of 2008 season Martin Semerad took part in Pirelli Star Driver Shootout Europe, the worldwide search for young and talented rally drivers to help them to reach World Rally Championship level. At both gravel and tarmac super stages of Pirelli Star competition Martin drove Charouz Racing System´s Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX. As Martin was one of the elected drivers to Pirelli Star Driver programme he will contest six World Championship rallies in 2009. However to be able to get points in Production Car World Rally Championship (PWRC) Martin Semerad entered also Rally Norway and Rally Cyprus with the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX prepared by Charouz Racing System.
